409 Small Block Project

Okay - the 400 from the Camino turned out to be a pretty good block.  It was a recently bored 30 over but only has two bolt mains.  I had it cleaned, magnafluxed and spec'd.  It may need a just to clean up bore for the cylinders.  It looks like the crank will need to be cut by 10.  I think I'll have the cylinders bored an extra 10 to put it 40 over. And that figures to be 409 cubic inches.  As an old school guy, I like the idea of a 409 even though it is a small block.  I'm just going to build the bottom end at this point because I don't have project to put it in.  I have a 700R4 ready to prep for this build.  I would like to find a G-Body for the project - like a Malibu station wagon.  What would really be cool would be a 70 - 72 two door sedan ("post") Chevelle or Malibu.  Even a four door sedan would work.  I am also looking for a set of Chevy "882" heads.

The block is done.  Bored 40 to 409 cubic inch.  It also has new cam bearings and freeze plugs.  Crank has been cut and polished to 10/10.  Original rods are being used with hypereutectic dished pistons.  This should yield a 9 .1 to 1 compression ration.  I am leaning toward setting this motor up for my 1994 Sonoma.
